Micro, radio, WiFi, and more. Waves are everywhere! Our TVs, tablets, and radios can hear them, but they easily pass by us undetected. It’s amazing if you stop and think about it - every moment, there are thousands of waves running through our homes, our offices, our cafes, and even our bodies! We might know they’re there, but without the right antenna to pick up the signal, they slip past us without our giving them so much as a thought.

I have found this is much like the work and world of Spiritual Direction. The Spirit is moving, speaking, and animating creative, life-giving waves throughout our family, work, and every aspect of our lives. Unfortunately, like a WiFi signal to our ears, they can pass by undetected.

As a Spiritual Director, I seek to create a quiet space where those who come can stop, sit, reflect, and pray. Where together we listen, with antennae up, to tune in as Spirit moves and speaks freedom and transformation into our lives.

What does a session look like?
It is my goal to provide a safe, contemplative space where masks can be dropped at the door and the work of honest seeking, for God and self, can take place. The conversation can look quite different depending on each individual but often begins in a time of silence, allowing us to become present to our body, heart, and mind.

My job is listening.

I will have some questions along the way that lead us deeper into the heart of the matter at hand. Both self-awareness and awareness of the Divine are major points of focus.

The work of spiritual direction, as in all relationships, hinges on honesty. There are no topics or feelings that are ‘out of bounds.’ You are welcome precisely where and as you are. As we become open to a deeper knowledge of our true selves, we are able to see more clearly the potential roadblocks on our path.

To paraphrase the theologian John Calvin, it’s these moments of self-awareness that lead us to a deeper God-awareness, which then leads to greater self-awareness, which leads to deeper God-awareness, which leads to…well, you see the point.
How long are sessions and what is the fee?
Sessions last 60 minutes. Traditionally, sessions occur once every 4-6 weeks for ongoing direction. I am also happy to meet for single sessions, though deeper work can often occur through a consistent rhythm. Commonly, the cost for a spiritual direction session is $100. I also offer a "pay what you can" scale to meet your personal financial needs. I am also happy to speak with you over the phone for an initial conversation at no charge.
